Which is warmer?

We have started our Thermo final project. One of the possible topics is which is warmer? Mittens or gloves? So far the data is split.

Where's Waldo?

We are finishing up the specific heat lab so I was bored and I noticed this. Can you spot it? Should I charge them $0.08 per kilowatt hour? That is what the school pays.

What is your metal?

Today we are partaking in using heat lost equals heat gained to find the specific heat of a mystery metal.

Shake it up!

Today we are exploring the concepts of temperature and heat. We have two containers of differing amounts of sand. We shake the, up and take their temp. We also feel the heat by dipping our hands in a hot container and cold container then put them in warm water and feel what happens.

What is faster?

Today we played with PhET exploring Kinetic Molecular Theory ideas. My favorite question is what is faster, a ad going 50 mph or a gas molecule?

Today was our belated egg drop. Snow does not deter mountain kids.
